EDID - Extended Display Identification Data

Category: APPENDIX

This is a protocol where a display device can publish its capabilities to a video source. I.e. a TV  publishing its supported resolutions to a DVD Player. It is commonly encountered with HDMI. Note if you have a HDMI mixer, or HDMI extender, this may affect EDID.
